Saturday Night Live UK writer, breakout star of Have I Got News For You and critically acclaimed stand-up comedian Bella Hull brings her fourth show Mad Cow Disease to London’s Soho Theatre, Downstairs from Monday 16th – Saturday 21st November at 9.15pm. This follows a hugely triumphant Edinburgh Fringe, which saw the “relentlessly acidic” (Time Out ★★★★) comic sell out her month-long run to widespread acclaim and be named a top Fringe pick in The New York Times.
Soho Theatre tickets are on sale now. Full dates and tickets at sohotheatre.com
Ten years after her first gig, Hull reflects on a decade of telling jokes in dark basements. Was it worth it? What other lives could she have led? How does she still not have a driving licence?
Part dissociative fantasy, part love letter to stand-up itself, Mad Cow Disease is a surreal new hour from perhaps the only woman able to romanticise a dual carriageway.
It’s been a landmark year for Bella. She became the first Gen Z comedian to appear on Have I Got News For You, joined the writing team at SNL UK (which won Best Comedy and TV Moment of the Year at the 2026 Edinburgh TV Festival Awards), was shortlisted for British Comedy Guide’s ‘Next Big Thing’ Award 2026, Chortle’s Best Show Award 2026 and made The Times’ Young Power List 2026.
Her TV credits include: Live At The Apollo (BBC 2), QI (BBC 2), Would I Lie To You? (BBC One), The Last Leg (Channel 4), Stand Up for Live Comedy (BBC), The Stand Up Sketch Show (ITV) and Comedy Central Live. Bella is a series regular on Channel 4 digital’s A News Thing podcast and has co-hosted the Rats of the Roundtable and Last Night Out podcasts. She is also a regular voice on the radio, having appeared on One Person Found This Helpful, The Naked Truth and You Heard it Here First (all BBC Radio 4).
A widely popular live act, Bella regularly plays to sold-out crowds both in the UK and abroad. Her 2025 show, Doctors Hate Her, was a smash hit, selling out its entire run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2025 including multiple extra shows.
