Choose a book, record where you are, and set a daily goal. Your progress is stored in localStorage in this browser; it is not uploaded to a user account.
If the EPUB has no fixed print pagination, the tool starts with an estimated page count and lets you replace it with the page total shown by your own reader.

The Reading Time Estimator gives an honest estimate of how long a book will take to read, based on word count and an average reading speed of about 230 words per minute. This is a rough guide, not a promise—your actual time may vary.
The library's median word count is 68,230.5, which corresponds to about 297 minutes of reading. Use the estimator to plan your reading sessions, or to find a book that fits your available time.
Enter a book's word count, or choose from the catalog, to see an estimated reading time in minutes and hours.
Books are grouped into quick (under 1 hour), steady (1-3 hours), immersive (3-6 hours), and marathon (over 6 hours). The library has 15 quick reads and 10 marathons.
Use the estimates to decide how many sessions a book might take, or to pick a book that fits a lunch break or a weekend.
The Reading Tracker at QAPOE helps you plan your reading by recording progress in pages. It uses a simple system: you set a current page, a total page count, and a daily page goal. The tracker then estimates how many days it will take to finish, based on your goal. It does not track minutes or sections—only pages.
When you start a book, you need to know its total page count. If the catalog does not provide a fixed page count, the tracker estimates it by dividing the word count by 250 (the configured words per page). For example, 'Alec Lloyd, Cowpuncher — Inside the Classic' (id 263) has 66,623 words, so the initial estimate is about 267 pages (66,623 / 250 = 266.5, rounded up).
You can replace this estimate with the total page count from your own reading app or edition. This is useful because different editions may have different pagination. The tracker is flexible enough to accommodate your specific copy.
The default daily goal is 20 pages, but you can adjust it to your own pace. The tracker calculates the estimated finish days as the remaining pages divided by your daily goal, rounded up. For 'Alec Lloyd, Cowpuncher', if you have 267 pages and read 20 pages a day, you will finish in about 14 days (267 / 20 = 13.35, rounded up to 14).
If you want to finish faster, you can increase your daily goal. For instance, 30 pages a day would mean about 9 days. The tracker makes these calculations automatically, so you can experiment with different goals.
As you read, you update the current page. The tracker keeps your progress history in your browser's localStorage, so you do not need an account. This means your data stays on your device, and you can pick up where you left off on the same browser.
The estimated remaining time is proportional: it scales the estimated reading time by the fraction of pages remaining. For a book like 'Alec Lloyd, Cowpuncher', with an estimated reading time of 290 minutes, if you are halfway through (about 133 pages), the remaining time would be about 145 minutes. This helps you plan your reading sessions.
