I am pleased to announce that Boston Rare Maps will exhibit March 16–17 at the 39th annual Ephemera Fair in Greenwich, Connecticut. The Fair is a highlight of the Ephemera Society’s Annual Conference, which this year examines the theme Coming to America: The Immigrant Experience.
In collaboration with Seth Kaller, Inc. and University Archives, we will be hosting “National Emergencies & Documents that Shaped America.” This exhibit will feature extraordinary original documents, manuscripts, maps, and prints that tell the American story in an immediate, visceral way no textbook can match.
Documents on display and offered for sale will include highlights from the unique Alexander Hamilton Collection, plus George Washington’s clarion call to give “to Bigotry no Sanction,” Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation, and more. These will be exhibited side-by-side with extraordinary images, including the original “Gerrymander” cartoon and a colossal patriotic chromolithograph of “Columbia” produced for the 1893 Columbian Exposition.
The Fair will feature an additional 80 exhibitors offering tens of thousands of items, including vintage advertising materials, rare maps, posters, tickets, manuscripts and music scores, movie scripts, photographs, and much more.
The Fair will take place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel at 1800 East Putnam Avenue in Old Greenwich, CT on Saturday, March 16th (10 to 5) through Sunday, March 17th (11 to 4). Parking is free. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 if purchased in advance on the Ephemera Fair web site. Students with college ID and children under 18 are free with an adult admission.
